From May 26 to June 2, 2019, the XVIII International Sports Games of the Small Countries of Europe (IMZE) 2019 will be held in Montenegro!
It is worth noting that in Montenegro for the first time this kind of large-scale multisport competitions will take place, in which more than two thousand participants from different countries of the world will take part - athletes, coaches, officials, as well as representatives of national Olympic committees, journalists, volunteers and many others ...
This year, athletes from nine European countries with a population of less than one million people will take part in the XVIII International Sports Games among small European countries. In addition to Montenegro, athletes from Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Cyprus and Iceland will take part in the Games. .
The international sports games of small European countries have been held since 1985, and Montenegro has been participating in them since 2011.
The main sporting events and major events of the Games of Small European countries will be held in the popular resort town of Budva. All the participating athletes will be accommodated in the Slovenska Plaža hotel complex, and representatives of the national Olympic committees of the participating countries will live in Budva. It is also expected that the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, will visit Montenegro and Budva for the first time.
The opening ceremony of the XVIII International Sports Games of small European countries will be held in Budva on the square opposite the Old Town of Budva, which is a popular and attractive place, as well as an ideal venue for this significant event.
In addition to Budva, sports competitions will be held in the Montenegrin cities of Bar, Podgorica, Cetinje and Tivat. Volleyball competitions (among women and men), beach volleyball, shooting, rowing and tennis will be held in Budva. The Bar will host basketball matches, as well as competitions in various disciplines of athletics, swimming in Podgorica, swimming in Cetinje, judo, and table tennis games in Tivat.
Given the large number of participants and the volume of the opportunities offered by these International Sports Games in terms of promoting Montenegro and Budva, we can say that the Games of Small Countries of Europe for Montenegro are small Olympic Games.Organizer
