Margarita cocktail recipe
Ingredients
5/10 Tequila
3/10 triple sec (Quantro or any other orange liqueur)
2/10 lemon or lime juice
An old recipe book dated 1924 tells the story of Margarita cocktail. One poor Mexican fishman coming back to the city, saw a beautiful daughter of the governor and fall in love. The name of a girl was Margarita. Returned to his village, helpless to forget her, he started taking drink made of Tequila, lemon juice and semisweet liqueur. Between drinks the unlucky swallowed salt from his palm. His friends asked him salt and the same cocktail and gave the name to this cocktail Margarita. Visitors of the village populated the cocktail as well as love story. One city bartender Herrera made the drink famous on a national level.
Another story connects the cocktail with Margarita Sames, who invented the drink at the end of World War II by mixing the following ingredients: Tequila, Quantro, lime juice, crusta made of salt around a glass rim.
The original ingredients were back in 1933, the difference is just in triple sec. In America Margarita is consumed as an aperitif.
