Universal Monte, which is the concessionaire of the Herceg-Novi - Trebinje highway toll section, previously reported that on New Year holidays, all vehicle drivers will be able to ride the given road connecting major tourist cities of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina free of charge.
According to representatives of the company Universal Monte, the fare on the road Herceg Novi - Trebinje will not be charged on December 30 and 31, 2018, as well as on January 1, 2019.
It is worth noting that for more than ten years, the company Universal Monte, owned by the Serbian businessman Vuk Hamovic, levies a road tax from all vehicles, ranging from 3 to 18 euros, depending on the category of transport, for traveling along the almost 13-kilometer section of Melina - Petievici, located on the international road Trebinje - Herceg Novi.
For many years, the Herceg Novi municipality has been trying to solve this problem and to cancel the toll for the section of the Herceg Novi - Trebinje highway, but so far without success.
