In 2018, more than 150 thousand tourists visited the ancient fortress of the city of Kotor in Montenegro. It is worth noting that last year the price for entry to the Kotor Fortress was 8 euro/person, that is why the total revenue from the sale of entrance tickets exceeded one million euros.
As reported from the Office for Repair and Construction of the city of Kotor, which controls the oldest walls, a significant increase in financial profits came from an increase in the price of tickets, which previously amounted at 3 euros/person, and in 2018 the cost of entrance tickets rose to 8 euros per person.
“In 2018, the ancient fortress in Kotor was visited by 152,360 tourists, and the income from the sale of entrance tickets amounted at 1,218,880 euros,” said the directorate for repair and construction of the city of Kotor. During 2017, 188,813 tourists visited the Kotor Fortress, and the proceeds from ticket sales amounted at 566,439 euros.
