According to the published UN report for 2019, Montenegro is on the 73rd place in the world ranking of happiness, which includes 156 countries of the world.
The rating of the happiest countries of the world is the Institute for the Study of Happiness, which analyzes the level of well-being and quality of life of people, based on the recommendations of the UN and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. In addition, the compilation of this rating takes into account inflation indicators in the country, the level of per capita GDP, the unemployment rate and key interest rates. In 2012, the UN first published a report in which it ranked 156 countries of the world in terms of the happiness of its citizens.
Over the year, Montenegro has made significant progress, as last year the country ranked 81st in the list of the happiest countries in the world.
It is worth noting that from the countries of the former Yugoslavia, the happiest people live in Slovenia, which occupies the 44th place in the world ranking of happiness. This is followed by Serbia (70th place), Croatia (75), Bosnia and Herzegovina (78) and Macedonia (84). From the countries of the Balkan region, the happiest country is Romania, which ranks 48th in the list of the happiest countries, followed by Greece (82), Bulgaria (97) and Albania (107).
