On Saturday, March 30, all inhabitants of the planet Earth can join the world's largest volunteer campaign "Hour of Earth", turning off the lights for only 1 hour, from 20:30 to 21:30 in the evening.
The motto of the Hour of Earth campaign this year is “Get off the plastic, go on nature.”
Hour of Earth is an annual international symbolic event, during which the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) calls on all inhabitants of the planet Earth to turn off the lights for one hour as a sign of their indifference to the future of our planet. “On March 30, the WWF initiative, Earth Hour, will unite millions of people around the world who will demonstrate their commitment to the future of the planet and turn off the lights for one hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm,” said a representative of WWF, Adria.
Recall that starting with a symbolic action of turning off the light for one hour, which took place in Sydney (Australia) in 2007, today the Hour of Earth is celebrated in more than 180 countries and territories around the world. In addition, every year the most famous world landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Roman Colosseum or the London Big Ben, completely turn off the exterior and decorative lighting and plunge into total darkness.
