Construction of the Virpazar sea port on Lake Skadar, the implementation of which will increase the cost of economic and tourist resources of Lake Skadar, should be completed by June 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Shipping of Montenegro reported.
A meeting of the working group was held at the Ministry of Transport of Montenegro to organize preparatory activities for the construction of the port of Virpazar.
“Within the framework of the international program IPA CBC (Italy, Albania, Montenegro), and also with the participation of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro as one of the project partners, funds for the construction of the Virpazar port on Skadar Lake were € 2.44 million, of which 85% is the contribution of IPA, and 366 thousand euros is national co-financing,” the company said.
"Under the IPA CBC program, Italy Albania Montenegro, thematic projects, in the framework of the project Albania, Montenegro, Italy, a multi-modal transport link with the Ministry of Transport and Shipping as one of the project partners approved funds amounting to 2.44 million euros, 85% of which are IPA counterpropriations, and 366 thousand euros is national funding and are intended for the construction of the port of Virpazar," said the Ministry of Transport of Montenegro.
The signing of the Subsidy Contract is expected soon.
