One of the two Montenegrin flags adorning the fortress wall in front of the main gate of the Old Town of Kotor was stolen last night.
The flag of Montenegro was posted on July 12 in honor of the celebration of the Day of Statehood in the country, Skala radio reported. The flag area is 27 square meters, and its cost is about 400 euros.
The theft of a flag from the city gate of Kotor was reported to the Kotor police, whose officers arrived at the place of crime. They took records from all video cameras, so it is expected that the person who broke the fasteners and stole the flag will be detected as soon as possible and taken to the police station of Kotor.
Zvezdan Shantich, who hung the flags on the fortress wall, told Radio Scala that the flags were well attached to the cables in several places and that there were no signs that the disappeared flag could be torn off and “carried away” by the wind.
