From April 1 to August 1, 2019, the ancient fortress in the city of Kotor was visited by 99,402 tourists, and the income from the sale of entrance tickets amounted to 795,216 euros.
It is worth noting that for the same period last year, Kotor fortress was visited by 68,218 tourists, from whom income from the sale of tickets in the amount of 545,744 euros was received. Zeljko Knezhevic, a spokesman for the Kotor Landscaping and Construction Directorate, which runs an ancient fortress in the Old Town of Kotor, identified two main reasons for the increase in the number of visitors to the fortress in Kotor. Firstly, this is an increase in the number of cruise liners arriving in the port of Kotor in the summer, which was 12% more than last year. Secondly, these are favorable weather conditions in the spring of this year, thanks to which the entrance to the Kotor fortress was opened on April 1.
The price of admission to the fortress of Kotor is 8 euros.
