The municipality of Budva has announced an open tender for the selection of the best wall cleaning contractor in the Old Town of Budva. For the cleaning of the ancient city walls allocated 20,000 euros.
As indicated in the terms of this tender, we are talking about cleaning the exterior walls of houses and fortress walls using sandblasting (sand blast under pressure). The last time they washed and cleaned the walls of the Old Town of Budva 15 years ago.
The walls of Budva were built in the Byzantine era, between the 7th and 9th centuries and during the reign of the Venetian Republic, from the 15th to the 18th centuries. In addition, the walls were repaired and reconstructed during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Today's view of the old city of Budva is the result of turbulent historical and natural events taking place in these places on the Adriatic coast. In addition to all kinds of wars, the walls of the city experienced significant damage during the fire and earthquake in 1667 and 1979. In different eras, the fortress walls were rebuilt and reconstructed.
