The Montenegrin Municipal Inspectorate reported that inspectors of the city of Podgorica are currently patrolling the Gorica area, a park in the Topological Forest and a park near the University of Montenegro and warning pet owners if they walk dogs without a leash. They also note that maintaining the cleanliness of the parks during pet walking is the responsibility of the owners, as required by the Animal Welfare Act, and now veterinary officers conduct inspections to identify offenders in various areas. For this crime, a fine of 60 to 3,000 euros is provided.
This Decision does not apply to dangerous dogs, because they are kept in accordance with the Regulation on the procedure for keeping dangerous dogs, for which the Veterinary Inspection is responsible, writes the Dan information portal. Dangerous dogs are such breeds as: pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, bull terrier, Central Asian shepherd, Caucasian shepherd, Fila Brazililero, sharplaninets, American bulldog, kangal, South Russian shepherd, tornyak, as well as a mixture of these breeds or dogs trained for battle.
The most common violations are keeping dogs on the terraces of the building and occasional rabies vaccination.
