Montenegro Airlines accounts for a fourth of Montenegro's passenger traffic, thus, the national airline of Montenegro is still the dominant business partner of the management company Montenegro Airports.
Despite the ever-growing number of foreign airlines that annually open new regular or seasonal flights to Montenegro, the National Airlines Montenegro Airlines (MA) manages to maintain its position as the dominant airline carrier at the airports of Tivat and Podgorica, that is, the main business partner of Montenegro Airports (ACG).
According to Montenegro Airlines (MA) on the results of the summer tourist season in Montenegro, in the first nine months of this year, the airline made a total of 3,263 flights of its aircraft from Montenegrin airports, which is 3% more than in the same period last year. By the number of flights, MA is the first in the list of all airlines with which the management company “Montenegro Airports” cooperates, and has a 26.1% share of the total number of flights serviced during the first three quarters of this year at the airports of Tivat and Podgorica.
In second place in the list of airlines which planes most depart and land in Montenegro, far behind Montenegro Airlines, is Air Serbia with a traffic share of 11.14%, and in third place, with a share of 3.28%, is the largest Europe low-cost airline - Ryan Air.
As for the end of September, 2,263,709 passengers were served at Montenegro's airports, which is 8% more than in the same period last year. Montenegro Airlines has the largest number of flights (23.06%), followed by the Serbian air carrier Air Serbia (9.32%), the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair (6.08%) and the Russian Lukoster Pobeda (5.10%).
