The Zeta River, which originates in the north of Montenegro, near the town of Niksic, and flows into the Moraca River near Podgorica, received the status of “Montenegrin Nature Park”.
Among the features of the Zeta River, it is worth highlighting the fact that on the territory of the Slivel region it completely goes underground and reappears on the surface near the settlement of Glav-Zeta. The total length of the Zeta River is 86 kilometers.
It is also worth noting that funds for the protection of the Zeta River are allocated from state and local budgets. The Government of Montenegro notes that the Zeta Valley has high potential for the development of agriculture and this Decision on granting it the status of “Nature Park” will help preserve and develop the biodiversity of the Zeta River.
