In the current pandemic, epidemiologists recommend that people maintain a social distance of at least 2 meters in public places. Based on these data, the Montenegrin media carried out calculations and reported that, with people observing the minimum social distance, Velika Beach in Ulcinj can take about 120,000 people.
The calculations themselves look like this: the length of the largest beach in Montenegro, Velika plaža, is 12 km, its width, on average, is 50 meters. Thus, the total area of the beach reaches about 600 thousand square meters. According to epidemiologists, the distance between people according to new standards should be at least two meters or 5 square meters. Dividing the area of the Velika Beach by the area of social distance, we get an approximate number of people who can simultaneously be on this beach.
Based on the same calculations, it follows that about 10 thousand inhabitants of the south-eastern coast of Montenegro can take the Small Beach, as well as beach recreation areas in the Valdanos Bay and the village of Kruce.
