In Montenegro, 12, 13 and 14 July are officially declared days off, on the occasion of the celebration of the day of Statehood.
Montenegro celebrates statehood Day on July 13, in memory of the events that took place on July 13, 1878, when Montenegro was recognized as an independent state at the Berlin Congress. Also, on the same day, but already in 1941, in Montenegro, the uprising of the people against fascism began. A brief history can be found on our website page.
During the celebration, on July 12, 13 and 14, trade enterprises will not work: various stores, shopping centers, etc. Small packaged goods can be purchased in small stores that are located at the gas station. Many public catering establishments: cafes, bars, restaurants, will operate on a standard schedule. Markets (at least in Podgorica) will only be open on Sunday, July 12.
