The national coordinating body is considering the possibility of opening the borders of Montenegro to Russian citizens, starting from August 1, informally reports the information portal "Dnevne novine".
According to Dnevne novine sources, this decision, which will please both Russian tourists and residents of Montenegro, can be taken as part of measures to mitigate the consequences of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, especially in the tourism sector.
The information that a significant decrease in the number of people infected with coronavirus has been registered in Russia in recent days and that this week the country recorded the lowest number of infected people since April also supports the idea of opening the borders between Montenegro and Russia. However, such a decision depends on a number of circumstances caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in both States.
Earlier, Montenegro opened its borders to tourists from Ukraine and Belarus, and tourists from Israel are already arriving in the country.
