The first so-called "smart" solar bench appeared in the complex Lustica Bay. On this occasion, five olive trees were planted in the residential complex of Maslina, the Marina district, in the Gulf of Trašte on the Tivat part of the peninsula.
The action was carried out in cooperation with Luštica Development, on the initiative of NGO Krug, on the eve of the first Green Culture Forum in the Balkans as part of the greening program for Luštica Bay.
The installed "solar bench" is a street furniture, a lighting device, a place for charging mobile devices, and a hot spot for wireless Internet.
Solar benches are energetically independent, since they are supplied with electricity from a photocell in the solar panel, which is hidden under the bench.
On the bench there are four USB ports, which can be connected to charge mobile phones, tablets and laptops. Thanks to the battery, the bench can work up to 10 days without direct contact with the sun rays.
