Due to the low water level in the National Park Skadar Lake, according to the recommendations of scientific institutions and amendments to the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, an order was issued banning fishing, restrictions and measures to protect the fish fund. The order refers to the prohibition of fishing for all species of fish and aquatic fauna, if the water level is less than 6.46 m above sea level.
The water level at the Skadar Lake, according to the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology of Montenegro, is 4.56 m above sea level now, and therefore fishing is temporarily banned until the hydrological conditions improve.
The organization "National Parks of Montenegro" encourages all fishing associations, fishermen, tourists and nature lovers to follow the recommendations of the National Park "Skadar Lake" about the temporary cessation of fishing due to low water level.
