Another cuckoo Leri, equipped with a satellite transmitter in England, held August in Montenegro, in the National Park Biogradska Gora and Prokletije, and then flew to Africa. According to information received from the Center for Protection and Research of Birds of Montenegro, during the last four years another famous cuckoo named David regularly spent a month in Montenegro in the Skadar Lake National Park.
The cuckoo population in Europe is stable, but its number in Western European countries, especially in Great Britain and France, is declining.
Cuckoos are known for their "paternalism". Specialists from the Center for the Protection and Study of Birds say that after pairing the "couple" diverges, and the female lays eggs in the nests of other birds. That's why they feel so free and can make many flights during the year.
