After 15 years the bus lines are being reorganized in Podgorica. A working group has been formed in the capital to prepare a tender for the distribution of urban and suburban lines in Podgorica. The tender will be completed within the next 7-8 months.
Currently, three bus companies operate on city and suburban routes. The working group will decide whether the bus lines will remain the same, or some new ones will be introduced.
Now Podgorica has 32 bus lines. Most buses do not meet the established criteria for transportation, but carriers are trying to update their parks. The average age of vehicles is from 5 to 37-38 years.
The working group will prepare an international tender for the introduction of electronic tickets. And this work is expected to be completed in the next 7-8 months.
