From 16 November, 2017 to 31 March, 2018 in Montenegro, under the current law, it is required to use only winter (studded or non-studded) tyres for all cars and vehicles.
Drivers who do not comply with these rules of the road, will have to pay a fine from 50 to 2,000 euros, depending on the degree of violation, according to the Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro. Previously,
the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro provided information on the amount of fines depending on the violations, namely:
- a fine in the amount from 300 to 2000 euros will be imposed on a legal entity if it allowed the movement of the car without winter tires,
- a fine in the amount from 50 to 150 euros will have to pay a car enthusiast who is an individual and participates in road traffic on a vehicle without winter tires,
- a fine from 50 euros to 120 euros will be imposed on the driver who participates in traffic on the road on a vehicle that does not have winter equipment in the winter.
