On the occasion of the upcoming New Year holidays and the meeting of the New 2018,
the official non-working days in Montenegro declared on January 1 and 2 (Monday and Tuesday), and in honor of the Orthodox religious holiday of the Nativity of Christ,
the days off will be on 6, 7 and 8 January 2018 of the year.
"On the basis of the Law on State Holidays, this year
the New Year in Montenegro will be celebrated on January 1 and 2. The law on religious holidays gives all Orthodox believers the right to get paid holidays
during religious holidays Christmas Eve and Christmas, and namely 6, 7 and 8 January", reported the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Montenegro.
"State bodies, local self-government bodies, state institutions and enterprises, public organizations and other companies that
are engaged in public activities are obliged to provide their employees with days off during these holidays. Breaking these laws can lead to harmful consequences for citizens and for all state, "the Ministry of Labor of Montenegro said.
