As a result of the many-day torrential rains that are observed in Montenegro in November and December, the water level in the rivers Moraca and Cievna has reached a record level of 900 centimeters!
On Lake Skadar, the water level rose by 330 centimeters, Branko Micev, head of the Weather Analysis and Forecasting Department of the Hydrometeorological Institute, said. He also noted that in December in Montenegro 254 liters of precipitation per 1 square meter fell, and together with November the total amount of precipitations was 620 liters per square meter, which is 36% more than the climatic norm.
After a long dry period that lasted in Montenegro since December last year, excess moisture was achieved in a short time, Branko Mitsew said, adding that from December 24th, dry weather in Montenegro is expected, accompanied by a gusty, cold north wind.
