Today,
athletes from Montenegro participated in the fantastic opening ceremony of the XXIII Winter Olympic Games, which took place at the stadium for 35-thousand people, a place in the Olympic Park in Hwang, in the city of Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea.
At the opening of the 23rd Winter Olympic Games in 2018 Montenegrin national team was represented by 3 sportsmen: Eldar Salikhovich, Maria Bulatovich and 17-year-old Zhabljak resident, Elena Vuychich, who carried the flag of Montenegro. In total, more than 2000 athletes from 92 countries of the world participate in the festive parade.
The 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea will be the third for Montenegrin athletes, since Montenegro gained independence in 2006. In 2010, Bojan Kosich (41st in slalom, 61st in giant slalom) performed in Vancouver, and four years later, at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Montenegro was represented by Tariq Hadzic (38th in slalom, 62nd in giant slalom) and Ivan Bulatovich (44th place in the slalom).
Recall that
the Winter Olympics 2018 will be held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.
