Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with ambassadors in the Kremlin, promised "to develop and maintain comprehensive relations between Russia and Montenegro on a mutually beneficial basis".
"The current situation in Russian-Montenegrin relations clearly does not correspond to the centuries-old traditions of fraternal friendship and the spiritual community of our peoples. We are interested in strengthening and developing comprehensive relations with Montenegro in various fields," Putin said at the ceremony of presenting the credentials of new ambassadors in the Kremlin, among whom was the Ambassador of Montenegro, Ramiz Bashic.
