From April 24 to July 1, the fortification wall of St. John, located in the Old Town of Kotor, was visited in total by 35,426 tourists and residents of Montenegro. Income from sold tickets, this year the cost of passage to the wall is 8 euros/person, has amounted to 283 408 euros.
It should be noted that 51 537 tourists and citizens of the city visited
St. John's fortress during the same period last year and the income from sold tickets amounted to 154 611 euros (in 2017 the entrance fee for the Kotor fortress was 3 euros/person).
As reported by the Directorate for Planning, Repair and Construction in Kotor, which manages this city wall, a significant increase in financial profits is primarily due to rising prices for entrance tickets, the cost of which since this season is 8 euros, in the past year, the entry price on the wall was 3 euros.
In order to improve the system of service and achieve even better results, at present two modern entrances to the wall of Kotor are operated by a modern electronic system for monitoring and collecting information on the number of visitors with the help of installed account sensors.
