The first rent station of electrical bicycles is available now for inhabitants and guests of Tivat, it is located near bus station and includes 6 new electrical bicycles.
The electrical bicycles will be leased at the same price as usual ones by existing system “Bike Tivat”, but the procedure of getting the bike will be more complicated because of its high price. A leaser will have to leave an identification card as a warranty. One-day rent is 5 euros, at week-ends – 8 euros per day. To rent a bike for a month one will have to pay 30 euros.
General expenses for bike station outfitting amount to 8400 euros, they were laid out by the Global Environment Facility and the Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the framework of the project for the development of tourism in Montenegro.
“These bicycles are the part of our new touristic offer for the inhabitants of the town, invitation to use more ecological and clean means of transport. We propose to live healthier life-style” – reported a secretary on environmental issues in the municipality of Tivat Tatjana Zelic, who was the first one to try a new mean of transport. A coordinator of the European "Mobility Week" in the UNDP office in Montenegro, added that "we recommend a combined use of different means of transport, for example, choose a bicycle or public transport, so that people could walk more, move, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and, therefore, the number of gas emissions would be reduced. In her opinion, it is necessary to search for alternative to automobile to support a favorable ecological climate. The company CNC Construction from Podgorica
