According to Monstat, in September, 146.83 thousand tourists were registered in various hotels, inns, apartments and hostels in Montenegro, which is 13.2% more than during the same period last year. In addition, the number of overnight stays in September amounted to 613.12 thousand, which is 10% more than in the same month of 2017.
“In September, of the total number of nights booked in collective accommodation, 92.2% were made by foreign tourists, and 7.8% were local,” statistics said.
In the first nine months of 2018, Montenegro was visited by 12.4% more tourists, who reserved 7.5 percent more nights than in the same period last year. The total number of overnight stays of foreign tourists in Montenegro was the highest among visitors from Russia - 16.5%, Serbia - 10.4%, France - 9.7%, Great Britain - 8.4%, Germany - 8.1%, Poland - 5.1%, Israel - 3.8% and Sweden - 3.5%. It is also worth noting that in September the largest number of overnight stays were recorded in the coastal cities and resorts of Montenegro, namely 90.3%, in the capital of Montenegro, the city of Podgorica - 4.7%, in various mountainous areas - 2.7% and in others tourist places of the country - 2.3%.
