Springs Ali-pashi

At a height of about 925m above the sea, in Prokletije mountains, in the National park of the same name, numerous Ali-Pasha’s Springs shoot and join together in one new big stream flow, surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes. There is an opinion, that water of Ali-Pasha is rich of minerals and has health properties. Springs are located in Plav town-council, 1km to the south from Gusinje village and 10km from Plav lake. Ali-Pasha’s Springs shoot at the foot of Prokletije river and occupy an area of 300m2. 

Speed of the stream depends on the season and varies from 1 to 1,5 m. In Winter it becomes three times faster. Having a big area, springs flow into Vruja river and merge with Plav lake. Appearance, water shadows and play of light are especially charming at sunset.

The Springs of Ali Pasha named after Ali Pasha of Gusinje, Albanian commander, who tried to impose Albanian rule in this region after the decision of the Congress of Berlin in 1878 was taken and the borders of the independent Montenegro were defined.

There are not so many tourists in Gusinje, therefore here you can completely enjoy local hospitality and natural food from local shops and cafes.
