Valovito Lake

The name of the lake originates from the word "val", which means "bowlder" or "stone", and it has fully deserved its name. There are many big and huge stones around the lake and it is impossible to imagine it without them. The lake is located 1690m above sea level at the foot of Stozhyna in Žabljak Municipality, in Durmitor National Park. You can get there by Žabljak- Trsa road. The total area is 12200m², length is just 225m, width is 85m and maximum depth is 3,5m; though despite such depth, water transparency reaches 2m. Fisher men, especially those who like trout, will enjoy the lake. There is a lot of trout. According to the legend, water from the lake can cure skin diseases. So if you decide to visit Valovito Lake, than certainly visit its neighbors Modro and Srablje lakes.
