According to agricultural census (Monstat 2011), there are 575 donkeys, mules and other equidae were registered in Montenegro in 2010. This data is total for donkeys, mules and other animals, the quantity of donkeys is far less in Montenegro. 30 years ago, there was no farming in the mountain region without these animals dedicated for hard work in the fields, wood and water carrier.
The farm was founded to protect donkeys from extinction. To combine business with pleasure and ensure farming sustainability, donkey milk production is going to be set up. Donkey milk is a remedy from allergy, asthma, cough and bronchitis. Donkey milk is similar to maternal milk and the best substitution for cow milk, as its consumption does not cause any allergy. One jennet provides 0,2-0,4 dl of milk per day, and this is just after 2 months after birth.
1 liter of frozen milk costs 50 Euro and 70 Euro for fresh. Despite the rest of the products, frozen milk does not lose its nutritious value.
