Aqueduct was built in XVI century during the rule of the Ottoman Empire. The construction was used to feed the town with water from the spring of Rumia mountain, as well as a bridge via the valley. The total length of aqueduct is 3 km, it consists from seventeen rider arches of different width, which are located on eighteen trumeaus made of rough-finished stones.
Water came out under the pressure from the top moved along the surface of the construction through the system of ceramic pipes consisted of fragments 12cm in diameter and 30cm length. After a destructive earth quake in 1979, the aqueduct was completely destroyed. Today it is reconstructed and can be used in theory. In reality, the unique system of ceramic pipes was not preserved.
