Heritage Museum in Rozaje is one of the newest museums in Montenegro. The museum was founded in 1991, although the collection of museum artefacts began in the early XX century.On September 30, 2007 the first permanent exhibition was opened in the museum. The concept of the museum is the collection, storage and presentation of original certificates of life and customs of the people of the Rozaje town, to form an adequate picture of the past of the town and for its tourist development.
The museum is located in a historic building in the tower "Ganića", built in the late 17th century, which is the symbol of the town and is shown in the official coat of arms of the municipality of Rozaje.The museum keeps the history of XVII, XVIII, XIX and the first decades of the twentieth century of Rozaje, featuring a wealth of material and spiritual culture of the peoples living on this territory.Museum exhibits are well preserved, unique both in technique and material.The museum displays objects from life, culture, housing, clothing, arts and crafts of Rozaje in the spirit of the Islamic tradition.There is also the influence of other cultures and civilizations associated with this area.
