Summer is a season of vacations and incredible life experiences. It is time of the year which most adults and children are eagerly awaiting to finally break down the daily routine, rest in body and soul and, after all, how to prepare for a new cycle of work or school days. How to spend your summer vacation is the business and choice of everyone, but it is quite logical that the most popular activities on these hot, sunny days are those which require direct contact with water. Usual swimming on an air bed or a rubber ring, fishing in a wooden boat, suppressing giant waves in the process of surfing or exploring an interesting underwater world with the help of diving is just the beginning of a list of how people usually have fun on their summer holidays. By the way, about diving... Diving... It sounds somehow unusual and it seems so far and incredible, isn’t it? How much have you heard about this kind of extreme sport? And did you know that, for example, in Montenegro, all the factors contribute to safe diving under water, both from the infrastructure organization to the natural conditions, and almost every holidaymaker can afford it.
What is "diving"? Types of diving.
Before going deeply into the topic of diving, you first need, of course, to understand the basic meaning of this concept. If one does not know, diving is a pre-planned and prepared dive under water, usually to a considerable depth, in order to study the underwater world or conduct various works. The breathing of a person under the water provides special equipment, depending on which (or in general its absence), diving can be classified into the following types:
- free diving. This is a kind of scuba diving without special equipment for breathing underwater - scuba. In fact, freediving is an ordinary swimming underwater, which is based on a delay in breathing. This kind of diving does not have a large recreational or aesthetic purpose, since the absence of a breathing equipment under water makes a person to return to the surface all the time and, moreover, the freediver is substantially limited in the depth of the research when immersing;
- Scuba diving. This type of submersion already provides special equipment for the researcher. Such diving is safer, and also provides an incredible opportunity for a person to understand the underwater world to the fullest. The scuba diver is practically not limited in depth, and the only thing that they should do is to monitor the level of oxygen in the aqualung;
- Professional diving. The name speaks for itself. In professional diving engaged people, for whom this is not a kind of entertainment on vacation, but the work of a lifetime. Such people have professional, more complex equipment, undergo a series of health checks and various training, and their underwater work can have engineering, rescue or installation purposes.
In addition to this basic classification, there are still many different types of diving. Some of them are really extreme. For example, hookah diving, when air is delivered to a person at depth through a special tube from the surface, introdiving, which involves immersion under the supervision of a specialist, drift diving, where the driving force of a diver is not his arms and legs, but... the underwater current and others.
